Andrena nigriceps - A solitary mining bee



Range & Status

Once a widespread species in west and east Cornwall, both at coastal and inland sites, north and south coasts. It is known from at least ten post-1980 sites where it occurs in a range of open, sandy habitats, including heaths, woodland clearings and coastal landslides. The most recent record is from Rame Head in 2004.
