Range & Status
Very localised across southern and eastern England and has become increasingly scarce in recent years.
Regional Distribution
Recently recorded in west Cornwall from Marazion area (details not available).
Habitat & Ecology
Associated with Arrowhead Sagittaria sagittifolia and possibly Water-plantains Alisma spp.; the larvae are aquatic and the adults are attracted to flowers of Yellow Water-lily Nuphar lutea .
Threats
Silting or artificial in-filling of water bodies; pollution.
Conservation
Protect open waters and their catchments from damaging activities.
