Range & Status

Very localised across the southernmost counties of England.

Regional Distribution

Old records from West Cornwall; discovered in three localities in the east of county by Ian McClenaghan during 2006 and 2007.

Habitat & Ecology

The larvae develop in the flower-heads of Cirsium and Carduus thistles, especially in

relatively unimproved pastures near the coast.

Threats

Loss of old pastures.
