Widespread in Britain but local.

Regional Distribution

The rarity of this species in Cornwall is linked to the scarcity of standing freshwater habitats here. Recorded from Hayle and Nine Maidens at Winnards Perch.

Habitat & Ecology

Occurs in swamps, ponds and other bodies of freshwater.

Threats

Drainage of wetland habitats.
