Protoparmelia montagnei - a lichen



Range & Status

Found on maritime rocks in the xeric-supralittoral zone often overgrowing the thalli of

other crustose lichens such as Aspicilia cinerea and Diploschistes caesioplumbeus . It is locally abundant on the Lizard Peninsula and on granite at Land' s End. Elsewhere it is known from the Channel Islands, south Wales and southern Europe.
