Range & Status

This beautiful species is found feeding upon a variety of ascidians (sea squirts) such as Mogula , Ciona and Dendrodoa to 30m depth of water. It is rarely recorded, most records having been found from the south-west of England, Cornwall, north and south Devon and south-west Wales. Elsewhere, it is recorded from north-west Wales, north-eastern Ireland, the west coast of Scotland and south through the Bay of Biscay to the Mediterranean Sea.
