Cornish Red Data (2009)

The descriptive text, below the map, is from the Cornish Red Data Book (2009). The map on this web page depicts the organisms distribution and shows the records made pre-2000 and those made since.

Ceramium botryocarpum

Range & Status

A large and robust, filamentous species seemingly confined to the intertidal zone, growing particularly on damp vertical faces. It is very difficult to distinguish from other Ceramium spp. and should be regarded, for the moment a sibling species with C. virgatum which is a common species.
