Cornish Red Data (2009)

The descriptive text, below the map, is from the Cornish Red Data Book (2009). The map on this web page depicts the organisms distribution and shows the records made pre-2000 and those made since.

Ancistrocerus antilope - A mason wasp

Range & Status

Once a widespread species, it has undergone a rapid decline in recent years and may now be extinct in Britain. There are numerous, valid, older records for Cornwall, however, the three post-1980 records were not substantiated with voucher specimens and as such should be treated with a modicum of doubt.
