Range & Status
Throughout England and extending into southern Scotland.
Regional Distribution
Listed in Clark (1906) but then not seen until 2008, when found in Lanhydrock Park.
Habitat & Ecology
Associated with King Alfred' s Cakes Daldinia concentrica on dead wood of old Ash
Fraxinus excelsior trees, but also found with deadwood of other broadleaved trees.
Threats
Loss of old parkland trees.
Conservation
Retention of old trees and their associated deadwood.
