Range & Status

Recorded widely in the southern half of England, from Cornwall to Kent and north to

Warwickshire, Flintshire and Yorkshire. This species is a cleptoparasite of two host

species Gorytes quadrifasciatus and G. bicinctus , only the latter host species occurs in Cornwall. It has been recorded from a variety of open habitats on light soils. This species has never been very common in Cornwall with only a few older records, however, it was found recently (2007) on sandy soils at Pendower Beach near Veryan.
