Puccinellia fasciculata - Borrer's Saltmarsh-grass



Range & Status

Native. Suboceanic Southern-temperate grass; also in North America. In England along the southern coast from Somerset to East Anglia and also in eastern Ireland.

Regional Distribution

Very rare, last recorded in only one site in saline conditions near Egloshayle (SX07) in 1991, where it is probably still present (SX07).

Habitat & Ecology

In a brackish pool in upper saltmarsh grassland.

Threats

Unknown.

Conservation

The site is within the River Camel SAC and the adjacent field is being reverted to

saltmarsh.
