Phylidorea abdominalis



Range & Status

Widespread in Britain except in the south-east, with about 20 post-1960 sites mostly in north or west. Recently downgraded from RDB2.

Regional Distribution

Recorded at Gwendreath (1980-1).

Habitat & Ecology

The semi-aquatic larvae develop in the exposed peat of bogs and fens; the adults fly

between May and August.

Threats

Drainage and water extraction.

Conservation

The Cornish site is in the Lizard National Nature Reserve.
