Oxyna flavipennis



Range & Status

Mainly known from the Breck district and Surrey heaths, but also scattered along southern coastal counties.

Regional Distribution

A few records along the north coast (Clemons, 2003), including sea cliff grassland at West Pentire.

Habitat & Ecology

Larvae develop in root galls on Yarrow Achillea millefolium .

Threats

Abandonment of grazing, with consequent sward coarsening and scrub development.

Conservation

Maintenance and restoration of coastal grazing schemes, ensuring not overgrazed.
